Initially this will be a remote based position.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Autotrak Group is expanding into Kenya and East Africa. Autotrak is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as a Business Development Director in Nairobi. We will be recruiting a seasoned external sales professional (B2B) with a proven sales track record in the vehicle telematics and fleet management space.

KEY PERFORMACE AREAS:
- Identifying and Pursuing New Opportunities: This involves actively searching for potential clients, market segments that that align with the company’s goals, identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities.
- Developing and Implementing Strategies: Creating and executing plans to capture new business, including marketing strategies, sales approaches, and negotiation techniques. Procure relationships with fleet owners, and corporate business in line with company objectives. Be able to conduct satisfactory product presentations from Workshop level to Director Level.
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
- Business Development Activity Management: Tracking progress, monitoring performance, and reporting on the effectiveness of business development efforts.
- Achieving Revenue Targets: Contributing to the overall revenue growth of the company by securing new business and increasing sales. Achieve sales targets as laid down by the company. Targets can change from time to time at management’s discretion.
- Understanding Customer Needs: Conducting market research, analysing client data, and identifying trends to tailor solutions that meet specific customer needs. Successfully learn the sales features and benefits of the company products and services offered to its customer base to the company’s satisfaction. This includes acquiring any technical knowledge to achieve this objective and understanding customer needs to tailor fleet management solutions.
- Negotiating and Closing Deals: Effectively negotiating contracts, securing agreements, and closing deals with potential clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A winner’s attitude, strong business acumen, impressive emotional intelligence and negotiation skills
- Minimum of 2 Years’ experience in a fleet management/vehicle telematics environment
- Qualification in the Sales or Marketing sector will be advantageous
- Must have a hunter profile, aptitude tests will be part of the recruitment process
- Successfully learn the sales features and benefits of the company products and services offered to its customer base to the company’s satisfaction. This includes acquiring any technical knowledge to achieve this objective.
- Good command of the English language – written & spoken
- Must have a valid driver license and reliable car
- Must be a team player
- Be prepared to travel nationally as required by the company
- Fully computer literate in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (product presentations)
- Be willing to undertake various tasks or projects given to you by the company
